    The world of grantmaking and charitable giving is more complex than ever.


    Recent regulations in the areas of Donor Advised Funds, Private Foundations and Supporting Organizations are just the latest in what governmental oversight can be expected in philanthropy.

    Through years of experience at the Community Foundation reviewing grant applications and providing ideas to donor-advisors, as a trustee of a foundation and our regional association of grantmakers, the Maine Philanthropy Center, and as a trustee of charitable trusts, I have found various articles and web sites helpful in assessing capacity building proposals,and share them with you here.  If you have any you'd be willing to share, please use the Contact Me link to send them.
